Unit Custodial Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Custodial Director to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a key member of our facility management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and security of assigned buildings on a K-12 campus.

• Lead and Coordinate Janitorial Activities: Oversee all aspects of janitorial operations, ensuring seamless delivery of services and exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Supervise and Mentor Staff: Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to supervisors and hourly employees, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
• Conduct Regular Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness standards, address complaints promptly, and take corrective action as needed.
• Equipment Maintenance and Inventory: Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
• Liaise with Building Occupants and Administrators: Act as a liaison between building occupants/administrators and janitorial staff, communicating directives and ensuring alignment with customer expectations and organizational goals.
• Ensure Timely and High-Quality Task Completion: Ensure tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards, encouraging a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Cross-Training and Development: Cross-train and develop personnel for multiple roles, increasing versatility and efficiency within the team.
• Monitor and Report Budgetary Issues: Monitor and report budgetary issues, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and contributing to cost-effective operations.

• College Degree: A college degree is preferred but not required.
• Supervisory Experience: One to two years of supervisory experience in a housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact is required.
• Strong Work Ethic and Initiative: A strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service are essential.
• Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as problem-solving skills in one-on-one and group situations, are required.
• Ability to Engage and Motivate Staff: The ability to engage and motivate staff is crucial.
• Understanding of Budgeting Processes: An understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts is necessary.
• Excellent Administrative and Organizational Skills: Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, are required.
• Ability to Work with Heavy Cleaning Equipment: The ability to work with heavy cleaning equipment is necessary.
• Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
