We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Skyway Concession Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of highway maintenance duties, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our roadways.
Key Responsibilities- Patching and Repairing Roadways: Apply asphalt patches to damaged road surfaces, ensuring a smooth and safe driving experience for motorists.
- Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, and mowers, to maintain roadways and perform winter maintenance activities.
- Winter Maintenance: Assist in the operation and maintenance of snow and ice removal equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient removal of snow and ice from roadways.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing as needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, and report any safety concerns or incidents to management.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Possess a valid CDL with air-brake endorsement.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a working knowledge of highway maintenance practices.
- Physical Demands: Be able to lift at least 50 pounds, and possess strong grip strength to operate equipment.
- Teamwork and Communication: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Highway Maintenance Equipment: Have 1-2 years of experience operating highway maintenance equipment, including snow plows and other heavy equipment.
- Past Snow Plowing Experience: Have past experience with snow plowing, preferably in a highway maintenance setting.
