Job Description:
The Operating Room Nurse serves as both Circulator and Scrub Nurse within the surgical environment. This role involves organizing and delivering personalized, professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The nurse adheres to the hospital's policies, procedures, and established standards, including those set by AORN, ASPAN, and SGNA. Responsibilities include patient education, with a focus on understanding the unique needs and behaviors of diverse age and cultural groups in the care planning process. The nurse also engages in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with a valid Connecticut license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Proven excellence in customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in clinical settings
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple clinical tasks
- Competence in delegating responsibilities to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
