Product Controller for Fixed Income Operations

The client is seeking a Fixed Income Product Controller who will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting associated with Fixed Income trading desks. This position entails overseeing daily revenues, P&L production, and balance sheet verification. The role requires close collaboration with trading desks, various internal teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Client Overview
Founded in New York City, the client has grown to become the largest asset manager globally. Their offerings include asset management, portfolio construction, capital markets support, and regulatory advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily, monthly, and quarterly P&L production and analysis, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and general ledger closing processes.
- Monitor and evaluate transactions, P&L, and daily revenues, collaborating with the Valuation team to confirm completeness and accuracy of IPV results.
- Engage with various internal departments, including operations, technology, middle office, and market risk, to facilitate financial and operational processes.
- Identify and implement initiatives aimed at process re-engineering to enhance operational efficiencies and streamline workflows.
- Evaluate new trades for proper valuation, accounting treatment, and disclosure in financial statements, contributing to Finance initiatives and key external reports.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Fixed Income is essential.
- 5-7 years of experience in a Product Controller role is mandatory.
- CPA or CFA designation is preferred.
- Previous management experience is advantageous.
