Job Summary

Arizona State University is seeking a highly skilled Lifeguard to join our team at the Mona Plumer Aquatic Complex. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in the swimming area, adhering to NCAA and conference rules, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor activities at the pool to prevent accidents and rescues swimmers in danger of drowning.
  • Administer First Aid and/or appropriate rescue techniques in event of injury or incident.
  • Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations.
  • Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas; reports dangerous conditions and unsafe equipment to the supervisor.
  • Inspects facilities for cleanliness, completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment.
Requirements
  • Ability to pass a water test to a depth of 18 feet.
  • Lifeguard experience (1 year).
  • Experience using pool vacuuming system, lane lines, take up reels, and other competitive aquatic equipment.
  • Experience in reacting quickly and calmly to emergencies.
  • Experience in decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
