About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Consumer Lending Representative to join our team at Ascend Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our Consumer Lending Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members by processing loan applications, answering questions, and providing information about our credit union services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate consumer, home equity, and small business loan applications by phone and online
  • Process loan applications in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage high production volumes in a fast-paced environment
  • Open new accounts, including share, share draft, Christmas Club, secondary accounts, and Money Market
  • Communicate loan options, rates, terms, stipulations, and other requirements to borrowers
  • Conduct outbound calls to communicate lending decisions and discuss credit enhancement tips
  • Read and interpret income verification, credit reports, Carfax reports, collateral values, and real estate appraisals
  • Assist members with inquiries and provide general information about the credit union and its loan policies
  • Meet or exceed department and individual sales and production goals
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under general supervision and prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet
