Procurement Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at ANDRITZ. As a key member of our purchasing team, you will be responsible for procuring shop materials, maintaining records of purchased products, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Plant Controller with daily operational needs, including purchasing, order processing, and data entry.
  • Purchase raw materials, maintenance materials, MRO, safety, office supplies, and inventoried items.
  • Review minimum and maximum inventory levels and adjust accordingly for optimal stocking.
  • Enter purchase orders into the ERP system and verify items received against the purchase order.
  • Negotiate Andritz Terms and Conditions with vendors as needed.
  • Address vendor quality issues, handle complaints, and resolve raw material shortages.
  • Research potential vendors and compare offers from suppliers.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
  • Issue status reports on projects, including weekly reports and statistics.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience using an ERP system, such as SAP or Point Man, is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills to work with financial reports and conduct cost analysis.
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures and vendor sourcing practices.
  • Ability to work with shop floor personnel and handle issues as they occur.
  • Previous experience in a plant location manufacturing environment is preferred.
