Job Summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a highly skilled Land Use Planner to join our team in Kennewick, Washington. As a key member of our land use planning team, you will work closely with experienced professionals to provide support for a wide range of site development and infrastructure improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing thorough research on property, zoning, and utility regulations to ensure compliance with municipal land use regulations.
  • Preparing and submitting high-quality applications for complex technical land use permits and entitlements.
  • Coordinating with project team members, clients, and permitting agency staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in land use regulations and best practices in the field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, landscape architecture, geography, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in land use planning or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Oregon's Statewide Planning System and ability to interpret and apply City and County Comprehensive Plans and Development Codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, and permitting agency staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
