Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Powerline Worker to join our team. As a Powerline Worker, you will be responsible for installing, locating, maintaining, and repairing electric utility distribution systems and various other electrical services and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, locate, maintain, and repair electric utility distribution systems and other electrical services and equipment.
  • Utilize hot line equipment and tools.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • May lead other line crew personnel in the absence of the Lead Powerline Worker.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of primary and secondary power distribution.
  • Detailed knowledge of underground and overhead distribution line construction and maintenance practices.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of hot line work.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team or small crew organization daily.
  • Ability to work extra and irregular hours as the utility needs may require.
  • Ability to work under unusual or special working conditions.
