About the Role

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Expert to fill this critical position. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing effective nutrition plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality nutrition services while maintaining accurate records and contributing to a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:
  • Conducting thorough nutrition assessments and screenings to identify patients' nutritional needs and risk factors.
  • Developing and implementing individualized nutrition plans, taking into account patients' unique requirements, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic situations.
  • Providing education and counseling to patients and their families, focusing on healthy eating habits, nutrition therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate care, share knowledge, and ensure seamless communication.
  • Preparing and presenting in-services to healthcare staff on nutrition-related topics.


Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need a strong foundation in Nutrition and Dietetics, including certification as a Registered Dietitian and licensure in Ohio. A Bachelor's degree in Dietetics (or related field) is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is essential. Experience in Pediatric healthcare and working with diverse populations will be highly regarded. Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 annually.
