About The Salvation Army Central Territory

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at The Salvation Army Central Territory. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our shoppers and donors, while maintaining a clean and well-organized work and shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present a professional appearance and adhere to our dress code at all times.
  • Accurately manage personal cash drawer, opening, closing, and balancing, while adhering to all Salvation Army money handling procedures.
  • Work to understand our Point of Sales system and complete sales effectively, with proficiency obtained within 3 months of employment.
  • Maintain a clean work environment at the cash register and throughout the store, including cleaning, straightening, hanging, and restocking as needed.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor and greet customers, offering assistance when needed.
  • Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
  • Keep the floor stocked and put new merchandise out, working to meet production goals for the store each day as needed.
  • Be available for a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or currently pursuing.
  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management, and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of our Point of Sales System, payroll program, and other adopted programs or systems.
  • Ability to give change accurately.
