Job Summary

As a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the well-being of mothers and newborns. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to promote patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates, perform fetal monitoring, and provide education to patients and families on fetal health and development.
  • Participate in high-risk pregnancy and delivery cases, including cesarean sections and other complex obstetric procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure a positive and supportive care environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines, research, and best practices in perinatal care, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and care processes.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in California
  • 1 year of recent experience in labor and delivery or a related field
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
