Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead for the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a crucial component of the Gateway Program aimed at lunar exploration.
- Collaborate effectively with lab personnel, partners, and stakeholders to ascertain interface and testing requirements.
- Utilize your knowledge of interfaces to ensure that lab designs meet testing objectives with the necessary fidelity.
- Develop a thorough understanding of lab verification processes and ensure the facility is equipped for assigned testing.
- Assist in the testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of lab equipment to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards throughout all operations.
- Provide support to lab personnel and external clients regarding integrated systems and their specifications.
- Continuously review and update documents, policies, and procedures for future lab configurations.
- Engage in system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Foster effective communication and organization within a collaborative team environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field or a related area.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or systems engineering.
- Proven experience in integrating complex hardware and software systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with test principles, tools, and processes necessary for developing test requirements.
- Understanding of commonly-used concepts and practices in the space hardware sector, including mechanical and electrical system design.
- Proficient in preparing written documentation and delivering presentations in various meetings.
- Capable of organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience working effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes is advantageous.
- Experience with NASA processes is a plus.
