Electrical Service Specialist Job Description

At Siemens Industry, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Service Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in our Hyper-Scale Data Center sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including power distribution equipment, switchgear, and transformers.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical control circuits and systems.
  • Set up and configure communication devices and topology industrial networks.
  • Upload HMI/PLC programs and install I/O and CPUs.
  • Perform integration of 3rd Party EPMS and initial testing, operation, troubleshooting, and modification of customer equipment and systems.
  • Test MV or LV circuit breakers, metal-clad/vacuum switchgear, breakers, or LV equipment and analyze test results.
  • Conduct equipment condition assessments and troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits.
  • Organize and maintain job documentation and provide on-site assistance with programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes.
  • Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.
  • Act as a technical resource to customers and field employees and provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections.
  • Train customers to maintain and adjust complex equipment and provide expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and train lower-level employees.
  • Complete and submit reports covering all job activity and maintain complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc.
  • Plan and estimate labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, and transportation expenses to complete complex proposals.
  • Review complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual guidance throughout the project duration.
Requirements:
  • 8 or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits and the ability to obtain thermography certification.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of Power Automation Switchboards.
  • 8 or more years of experience using electrical test sets to perform AC and DC high potential testing, transformer turns ratio testing, transformer power factor testing, and other power system test practices and procedures.
  • Skilled at interpreting protective coordination studies and testing and configuring protective relays.
  • Capable of reading bills of material, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports.
  • Experience with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
  • Familiar with the arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV and the following electrical equipment: Siemens GIS, AIS, WL, RL, and SB breakers and switchgear.
  • Familiar with ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree.
  • AVO, NETA, and NICET certifications.
