The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers essential nursing care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to patients across all age groups, employing the nursing process in alignment with Piedmont Healthcare's core values and objectives. The LPN operates within the boundaries of their licensure and adheres to the organization's policies and procedures, showcasing professional development and accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The LPN plays a vital role in:
1. Providing compassionate and competent nursing care to patients.
2. Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
3. Guiding and supporting ancillary staff in their duties.
4. Utilizing technology effectively to enhance patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
EXPERIENCE:
New graduates from an accredited nursing institution are welcome to apply.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must possess a current LPN license in the State of Georgia or a NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification is mandatory.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred candidates will demonstrate clinical proficiency in the specialty area for which they are applying. Nursing experience in a hospital environment is advantageous. For those working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS certifications are required. LPNs new to the specialty must complete relevant certifications within six months of employment, while experienced Emergency Department nurses are expected to obtain PALS certification within six months as well.
