Upon taking over the dispatch responsibilities, it is vital to engage in thorough communication with the outgoing dispatcher(s) to maintain continuity in daily operations. Throughout your shift, you will be responsible for checking drivers in and out, updating their schedules, and overseeing various routes. This includes precise data entry, such as recording driver arrival and departure times, freight counts, and detention periods, all tailored to meet specific customer needs. Additionally, you will manage essential documentation required by drivers, including receipts and proof of delivery.

Challenges such as vehicle breakdowns and accidents may arise, and your ability to calmly resolve these issues will be critical, always prioritizing safety and security.
