Histopathology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histopathology Technologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of histopathology techniques and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

• Perform histopathology techniques, including staining, sectioning, and microtomy, to prepare tissue samples for examination.
• Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and automated stainers.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to resolve issues and improve laboratory processes.
• Develop and implement new laboratory procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Master's degree in a related field, such as clinical laboratory science or histotechnology.
• Current certification as a histotechnologist (HTL) or histology technologist (HT).
• At least 2 years of experience in a histopathology laboratory, with a strong background in histology and cytology.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

This is a full-time position, working 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. The selected candidate will be required to serve a probationary period and undergo a background investigation.
