We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Mother/Baby Unit at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Collect and analyze patient data to identify expected outcomes and develop individualized plans of care.
- Care Coordination: Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to care and delivery of services.
- Shared Governance and Unit Projects: Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Evaluation and Documentation: Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualize the plan of care based on evaluation of findings.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
- Licensure: Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
- Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and additional certifications as required by the unit.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with others, and strong analytic abilities.
- Emergency Room: ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
- Pediatric Emergency Room: Pediatric Advanced Life Support TNCC within one year of hire.
- Non-Invasive Cardiology: ACLS Preferred: Experience in specific clinical area.
- Experience: Experience in specific clinical area.
