Truss Designer

Franklin Building Supply is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Truss Designer to join our team. As a Truss Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating accurate and efficient truss designs for our customers.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of trusses, including their functionality, advantages, and limitations.
• Master the art of reading construction plans and details, and conduct roof and floor truss takeoffs with precision.
• Familiarize yourself with Alpine Truss Layout and Engineering computer programs, and hone your mathematical skills to excel in this role.
• Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and carpenters to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Process orders and maintain detailed job files with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong math skills and a basic understanding of construction methods.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• A willingness to learn and exercise good judgment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest and implement solutions.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills.

• Familiarity with ALPINE software.
• Experience with Autocad design software.
• Understanding of local building and framing practices.
• Familiarity with construction materials and products.
• Drafting education or prior construction framing experience.
