Job Summary

CoreCivic is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Supervisor to lead our medical department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily nursing and clinical activities, supervising staff, and providing direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Supervision: Report directly to the Warden/Facility Administrator or Health Service Administrator for daily clinical operations. Manage and supervise daily nursing/clinical activities, including training new employees, evaluating performance, and preparing written performance appraisals.
  2. Staff Management: Supervise nursing and non-licensed healthcare providers, including developing work schedules, approving leave requests, and taking corrective or disciplinary action as needed.
  3. Patient Care: Provide direct patient care as indicated within the scope of licensure, applying appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
  4. Staffing and Scheduling: Ensure adequate staffing at the facility, filling in as needed during periods of short staffing, and performing nursing duties including executing physician's orders, assisting physicians in examinations or treatment, and dispensing and administering medications.
  5. Triage and Emergency Care: Perform triage and physical assessments, and direct emergency care and procedures as needed, calling the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university nursing program with a diploma/degree in nursing.
  • Current licensure in the state of employment.
  • Two years of nursing experience required, with one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge base of clinical nursing and basic principles/practices of management.
  • A basic working knowledge of computer and office equipment.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age.
