Body Fit Plus Inc is seeking a qualified Pyschologist to join our team at a correctional facility in Susanville, California.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled Pyschologist to provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Psychologist, Supervisor and/or the chief of Mental Health to provide initial mental health evaluations, conduct crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews.
Responsibilities- Provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards
- Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
- Meet with mentally ill inmates/wards for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews
- Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice
- Consult with supervisor, treatment team members, and institutional healthcare personnel on complex cases
- Document all care provided to the inmate, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTTs) meetings
- Monitor inmate progress using Subjective Assessment Plan Evaluation (SOAPE) FORMATTED PROGRESS NOTES
- Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, board and care homes, etc. to develop supportive community relationships
- Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards
- Assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services
- Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements
- Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in public or private institution
- Valid Photo ID Driver's License or Passport (Required)
- Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association
- Valid California Psychologist license Hard Copy (Required)
