Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for supporting the operation of our progressive metal stamping dies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and debug progressive dies, including machine operation, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of die condition and terminal quality to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform die disassembly and assembly, following applicable work instructions and blueprints, to ensure accurate and efficient maintenance.
  • Overhaul dies as needed, following training guidelines and best practices, to maintain die performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Fit and shape die components according to training guidelines and blueprints, ensuring precise mating sections and functions.
  • Measure dimensions using appropriate measuring devices to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Document and communicate work activities, including completion of related documentation and checks, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive attitude, working collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Utilize grinding equipment and hand tools within training and experience level to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the team.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with stamping dies, with demonstrated skills in self-motivation, good initiative, and ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 175 pounds, and to perform visual inspection and verbal/written communication on a regular basis.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
