Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at UMC Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide shift coverage for primary care providers, including evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care services, including examining, diagnosing, and treating medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and order medical testing as needed.
  • Review and interpret test results, take and record patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding patient care and follow-up.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives for the clinic.
Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license.
  • BSN or MSN degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or accredited Nursing Practitioner program.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
Work Environment

Our healthcare team works in a well-lighted, ventilated building with varying hours to accommodate department needs. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens is a high-risk aspect of this role.

Physical Requirements
  • Medium-demand work with standing, walking, and lifting/pushing patients, carts, and wheelchairs.
  • Adequate hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills required.
  • Good tactile sensation necessary for checking patients.
  • Talking and hearing essential for instructing and supervising nursing personnel and receiving doctors' orders and patient condition reports.
