About the Role:
As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and donors alike. With a strong background in clinical or hospital settings, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and respond accordingly, following applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.

Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate-level educational nursing program with state requirements.* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.* Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.* Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.* Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
