Job Summary

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences is seeking a highly qualified Faculty Member in Internal Medicine to join our esteemed faculty. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for teaching, scholarly activity, service, and clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach course material throughout the four-year DO curriculum, including assignments in the classroom setting, teaching laboratories, and at clinical sites.
  • Supervise or teach in third or fourth-year student clinical rotations.
  • Engage in research or other scholarly activity.
  • Participate in COM or University service.
  • Engage in clinical practice.
Essential Functions
  • Continuously prepare and teach assigned courses.
  • Participate in admissions activities.
  • Provide student advisement and office hours.
  • Participate in Commencement and White Coat ceremonies.
  • Develop course syllabi.
  • Administer examinations.
  • Participate in committee(s) as assigned.
  • Engage in research/scholarly activity.

  • Conduct self appropriately and consistently in accordance with the philosophy and mission of PNWU.
Requirements
  • Professional degree (D.O., M.D.) from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Completion of an internal medicine residency; currently board eligible or board certified by AOBIM/ABIM.
  • Licensure in the state of Washington.
  • Current DEA certification.
  • Eligibility for local hospital appointment.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with curricular and instructional design, and training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation.
