We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Monitor Technician to join our team at Christus Health. This is a full-time position that requires strong communication and technical skills.

Job Summary:

The Medical Monitor Technician will assist nursing staff by transcribing physician's orders during emergent situations. They will continuously observe, document, and report the cardiac rhythm status in the units and/or on telemetry. Additionally, they will perform clerical duties ensuring accuracy of unit records and serve as a communication center for the nursing unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe physician's orders during emergent situations
  • Observe, document, and report cardiac rhythm status
  • Perform clerical duties to ensure accuracy of unit records
  • Serve as a communication center for the nursing unit
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director, Clinical Manager, and Clinical Supervisor

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmias courses within three months of employment
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • BLS issued through American Heart Association preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring experience
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Spelling abilities required
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English fluently
  • Experience operating Facsimile and duplicating equipment preferred
  • One year experience in a hospital setting preferred

Nature of Supervision:

You will be responsible to the Director/Clinical Manager.

Environment:

This role requires working in a fast-paced hospital environment with potential exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals. You will be expected to utilize all protective equipment available and follow safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting for long periods, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. You must also be able to listen to multiple conversations while performing other tasks.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year (based on location and experience)
