Job Overview

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will assist the financial team in all monetary aspects by collaborating with the Financial Controller and other executives to establish control mechanisms and oversee the organization’s financial documentation. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the company's accounting and financial operations comply with legal standards and adhere to optimal accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrutinize financial reports for precision and adherence to legal standards.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax and tangible tax returns.
  • Support Financial Managers in the budgeting process.
  • Ensure all accounting activities align with legal regulations and established accounting norms.
  • Collaborate with the financial team to develop internal controls and policies.
  • Work alongside the IT department to uphold financial records and system processes.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of governmental regulations and tax laws affecting the organization.
  • Proficient in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Skilled in basic office and accounting software applications.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • An associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, particularly in month-end closing processes.
Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
