Position Overview:
The School of Engineering is experiencing remarkable growth in its research, teaching, and enterprise initiatives. To sustain this momentum, we are seeking to fill two senior lecturer positions in Civil Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality educational content that incorporates modern and emerging technologies.
- Assess and enhance student learning experiences in core Civil Engineering subjects.
- Engage in research activities that align with the school's strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in the following areas:
- Construction and project management
- Building Information Modelling
- Digital construction techniques
- Application of innovative technologies in construction
Applicants should demonstrate a strong research profile and the ability to establish internationally recognized research programs. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A first degree in Civil Engineering
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- The capability to merge outstanding teaching with pioneering interdisciplinary engineering research
Familiarity with the UK higher education landscape and external accreditation processes will be advantageous.
Work Environment:
Successful candidates will primarily be based at the Medway campus but may be required to collaborate across other university locations. We promote a hybrid working model in accordance with the university's working principles.
