**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Paving Laborer to join our team at Sanders Brothers Construction.

As a key member of our Asphalt Paving Department, you will be responsible for placing hot mix asphalt, shoveling asphaltic materials, and assisting with maintenance of asphalt finishing machines.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Placement of hot mix asphalt through the use of a shovel, lute, or other related tools.
  • Shoveling asphaltic materials and assisting with maintenance of asphalt finishing machines.
  • Following instruction of Field Manager and/or Asphalt Foreman.
  • Working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Working in varying weather conditions and environments, including extreme heat, dusty, wet, and loud noises.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.

**Preferred Skills:**

  • Valid Driver's License and 3-year motor vehicle record.
  • 1 year experience working with high production asphalt laying crews.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
