Job Summary
\The Nurse Practitioner-Xpand Role practices in a Magnet recognized tertiary academic Children's Hospital with Level One Pediatric Trauma Designation. This role involves collaborating with the supervising physician and performing overlapping medical/surgical procedures for specialty population of patients with critical acuity and/or participates in service coverage needs 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
\Our nurse practitioners provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate medical management and coordination of patient care consistent with their educational preparation and according to designated standardized procedures.
\In this role, you will perform complete physical examinations, including ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests and examinations. You will also document subjective and objective data and care in the electronic medical record according to established policies and procedures.
\You will keep patient, family, and caregiver as applicable, informed regarding plan of care, e.g., hospital course, post-operative plan of care, expected outcomes, follow-up care.
\We encourage our nurse practitioners to ask questions and be active participants in their care. We demonstrate a commitment to excellence and the exceeding of customer expectations by modeling behavior in the context of institutional values and the empowerment of professional governance of nursing practice.
