Welcome to the Department of Occupational Therapy at VCU, where we strive to advance occupation-focused scholarship and practice through integrated education, research, and service.


As a faculty member, you will be part of a team that prepares outstanding, evidence-based, client-centered occupational therapists to serve the state and nation. Your responsibilities will include teaching, research, and service, with opportunities to develop innovative and influential leaders who change policy, practice, and systems.


Our department is currently seeking a colleague to lead and collaborate in research and teaching, to participate in service to the department and university, and to contribute to leadership in the profession. The successful candidate will have an earned research doctorate (PhD, ScD), licensure or eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in Virginia, and a demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment. Junior faculty members will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding, while senior faculty members will be required to have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio.
