Position Summary:
The primary role of this position involves the construction and assembly of hulls and consoles for our Rigid Inflatable Boat production line. The technician will be tasked with the installation of superstructures, including consoles, seating arrangements, T-tops, and propulsion systems on the hulls, along with all associated components such as steering and electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize skills and expertise to finalize hull fabrication and console assembly.
- Provide direct labor for the completion of hull installations as per manufacturing orders.
- Prepare fiberglass or aluminum materials through cutting and drilling processes.
- Ensure that all activities meet quality standards and adhere to manufacturing timelines.
Additional Duties:
Other responsibilities may include shop maintenance, assisting with sea trials, managing job inventory, and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a background in marine assembly, demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing setting, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the marine industry, particularly in mechanical and propulsion roles, is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ABYC certification is advantageous, along with prior experience in a team-oriented and manufacturing context. Familiarity with sheet metal and fiberglass repair and modification is also preferred.
