Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Hillenbrand. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing projects involving extruders and auxiliary support equipment used in process applications such as plastics, food, and other processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical documents such as design criteria, system descriptions, specifications, and requests for equipment procurement.
  • Provide technical direction to design and drafting personnel in the development of construction and fabrication drawings for specific customer projects.
  • Assist with testing the assembled equipment to ensure it performs as designed.
  • Review vendor documentation such as drawings, procedures, and operations manuals to ensure conformance with specifications given to vendors.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers on technical matters when required.
Team Collaboration

This position will work with a team of engineering professionals to complete project work.

Requirements
  • Familiarity with CAD packages (preferably E-Plan) and ability to read complex electrical diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
  • 2+ years of applicable engineering experience.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical components.
  • Ability to perform system integration of multiple pieces of equipment under an extended scope project.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, or related industry standard codes.
  • Working knowledge of VFDs.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Logix Products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley Control Logix and Compact Logix hardware and RS-Logix 5000 programming software.
  • Ability to develop HMI applications using Wonderware, Factory Talk, or Siemens Win CC HMI software.
