Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at University of Michigan Health Sparrow. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of respiratory therapy procedures for patients with respiratory dysfunction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess patients' condition and initiate appropriate emergency and non-emergency procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
* Work with patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
* Administer aerosol medications, support therapy (oxygen, humidification, ventilator), and perform various respiratory treatments and/or diagnostic procedures.
* Consult with medical staff and make recommendations as needed.
* Report and document patient care and status data in accordance with established guidelines.
* Establish and maintain accurate records relating to charges for services rendered.
* Perform routine RT equipment maintenance, cleaning/sterilization, and ensure environmental safety.
* Assist in the transportation of critical patients and assist physicians with various respiratory/cardiology procedures.
Requirements:
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
* Licensed by the State of Michigan.
* Current BCLS Certification.
* Preferred: ACC Certification or NPS Certification from NBRC.
* 1 year of critical care experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
* High school diploma or GED.
* Graduate from a Respiratory Therapy school credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
