Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Structural Design Engineer to become a vital part of our metal building engineering services team. This position entails engaging in a variety of projects, including recreational facilities, warehouses, aviation structures, and cultivation centers. The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for managing project estimates, creating engineering and procurement packages, and overseeing financial risks while ensuring high-quality designs and successful project outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Project Standards: Master MBS project templates, standards, and procedures.
  • Engineering Documentation: Develop and prepare estimates, engineering packages, and procurement documents.
  • Financial Oversight: Identify, manage, and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
  • Resource Coordination: Utilize and manage external resources to enhance project execution.
  • Commercial Insight: Gain in-depth knowledge of MBS capabilities, vendor contracts, and project lifecycle stakeholders.
  • Peer Evaluation: Review and validate work produced by other team members.
  • Technical Assistance: Address and resolve technical issues during the construction phase.
  • Site Inspections: Perform site walkdowns and prepare field reports.
  • Reporting Structure: Report directly to the PEMB Studio Leader.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree with a Structural focus is advantageous.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in structural design, particularly for metal buildings.
  • Licensing: Passed the PE Exam.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to contribute to a team through all phases of design and construction.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in MBS is a requirement.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Advanced understanding of engineering codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE7, etc.).
