Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities include supporting the project manager in various aspects such as project planning, scheduling, procurement of materials, reporting, and tracking progress. The Project Manager operates under the guidance of the project manager or group manager, with tasks potentially carried out in either an office or field office setting.
Specific job responsibilities may differ based on the project, location, and available personnel.
Key Duties:
- Assist in the pre-project planning phase, which involves determining manpower requirements, assigning project personnel, conducting a logistical overview of the project site, and establishing the initial project budget.
- Support the development and maintenance of budgets for a segment or the entirety of a project, including reviewing field timesheets, material invoices, and monitoring progress against cost accounts.
- Help update construction forecasts to ensure accurate cost projections and completion timelines.
- Analyze work progress and create productivity reports to compare actual costs against budgeted figures.
- Generate and manage project-specific Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, and Change Orders.
- Review and understand all project-related documents, including Drawings, Specifications, Submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
- Attend weekly construction and estimating meetings, ensuring accurate and comprehensive note-taking.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Practical knowledge and/or experience in Electrical/General Construction.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to collaborate within a team.
- Integrity, honesty, and a commitment to contributing to team success.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with Electronic Bidding Software is advantageous.
