About the Position
Germanna Community College is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member in Accounting to teach courses in a variety of modalities, including virtually. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in Accounting, and will be able to successfully instruct and assist students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Accounting, including online and classroom instruction
- Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi and assessments
- Provide academic support and guidance to students
- Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives and committees
Requirements
- Masters Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in accounting
- Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems to effectively facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication
- Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment, including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success
- Technology capability (access to WIFI, computers) to teach remotely
- Experience using technology to teach
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with on-line teaching
- Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both the synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution
