Job Summary:

The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a highly qualified physician scientist to join our team. As a medical oncologist with a strong research background, you will be responsible for conducting bench and translational studies, genomics, precision medicine, and therapeutics in the field of medical oncology.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in active collaborative research, build clinical and/or translational research in the division, and obtain/maintain independent extramural funding. Responsibilities:
  • Direct patient care, including ambulatory, inpatient, and consult service
  • Outreach service at approved UW Health locations, as well as inpatient call coverage
  • Protected time to develop a research or teaching program, and to engage in scholarly activities
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of your clinical practice
  • Proactively supporting efforts regarding diversity in clinical trial participants

The successful candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.

About the Division:

The Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology & Palliative Care is part of the Department of Medicine and the NCI-designated UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are active in all phases of cancer research, from prevention, screening, cancer therapy, development and evaluation, survivorship, and palliative care.

Requirements:
  • Terminal degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in medical oncology
  • Experience in translational research, with a track record of successful publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching and current or high potential to obtain extramural funding
