Position Overview: Sharon Health Care is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Housekeeper. This position is essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents.
Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have completed a minimum of an eighth-grade education. A year of experience in housekeeping or laundry services is required. Experience in long-term care, behavioral health, or geriatric settings is preferred, but we are open to training motivated individuals who wish to support our unique populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning and laundry tasks as assigned.
- Dust, polish, and clean furnishings and fixtures in resident rooms and common areas.
- Sanitize and maintain bathroom fixtures to ensure hygiene standards.
- Manage floor care, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
- Set up appropriate caution and safety signs during cleaning tasks.
- Wash and clean walls, ceilings, and non-carpeted floors.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure trash receptacles are lined.
- Collaborate with residents to keep their living spaces safe and tidy.
- Maintain and clean housekeeping equipment regularly.
- Ensure all work areas are organized and that tools and supplies are stored correctly.
- Adhere to policies regarding universal precautions and perform all infection control tasks as required.
