Position Responsibilities
The Food Service Assistant will undertake various tasks, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring and documenting food temperatures
- Setting up and maintaining a clean serving area
- Preparing and serving food items
- Restocking food supplies
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment
- Processing payments for food and beverages
Adhering to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards is essential. The role requires excellent customer service skills and effective communication with patrons and colleagues. Building strong working relationships is crucial.
Maintaining quality control standards is a priority. The assistant may operate various kitchen equipment, including grills, beverage machines, cash registers, and dishwashers. Experience in the food service industry is preferred.
The candidate should be able to work independently when necessary and possess a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. The role demands physical stamina, including standing for extended periods and walking significant distances.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Previous experience in customer service and knowledge of food service operations is advantageous. Candidates should be able to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions, as well as perform basic math. On-the-job training will be provided.
Depending on the hiring location, obtaining Serv Safe certification within a specified timeframe may be required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location requirements.
