Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Critical Care Nurses to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at VCU Medical Center. As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents, while also collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.

About the Role

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
  • Contribute to the education and development of junior staff members
  • Maintain current knowledge of pediatric critical care standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state licensure
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • Minimum 12-24 months of experience as a registered nurse in a pediatric critical care setting
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program preferred
