Job Summary:This role involves performing first aid and CPR as needed, detecting and rescuing persons or vessels in distress, educating visitors about rules and regulations, and providing daily leadership for the Lifeguard I staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform first aid and CPR as needed
- Detect and rescue persons or vessels in distress
- Educate visitors about rules and regulations
- Provide daily leadership for the Lifeguard I staff
- Work as a deckhand on State Park vessels
- Valid California Drivers License (CDL)
- Pass a background investigation
- Pass a drug screening
- Hold a Department of Parks and Recreation First Responder certificate or equivalent
- Hold a Department of Parks and Recreation Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate or equivalent
This is a uniformed position, and the employee must abide by all applicable departmental uniform and grooming standards. The position requires a valid Class C driver's license and the ability to work long and irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
