Nurse Manager Med Surg Ortho Neuro

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to lead our Med Surg Ortho Neuro team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing leadership and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, floating between staff to assist with problem-solving and taking patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identifying any issues that affect desired patient outcomes and responding to complaints through established channels.
- Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers, ensuring staff has necessary equipment and supplies for safe, quality patient care.
- Exercise critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Relevant certification as determined at position level and 1 year of nursing experience.
