We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join our team at Palomar Health Medical Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to our medical assistant team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical and administrative support to the medical assistant team, including training and mentoring new staff members.
- Assist with the supervision of work and performance of clinic staff, including input for performance reviews and corrective action plans as needed.
- Oversee and train new and existing staff, ensuring compliance with Palomar Health policies and procedures.
- Assist with intake, scheduling, and setup for patient visits, as well as coordinate work for follow-up on missed appointments and referrals.
- Review charts, lab test results, and encounter forms for completeness and accuracy, and assess follow-up as needed.
- Ensure that expired medications are disposed of properly and maintain quality assurance in the dispensary.
- Collaborate with clinic staff on programs to improve patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement activities using the PDSA model.
- Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Practice Manager.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Certificate program.
- Minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience, with preference given to those with bilingual skills in Spanish.
- Certified CA State Medical Assistant and American Heart Association recognized BLS - Heartsaver certification.
- Valid CA State Phlebotomy License (CPT) preferred.
