Job Overview

Sioux Area Metro, South Dakota's largest public transportation provider, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a critical member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing general and complex mechanical repairs on buses and other equipment.

We offer a generous salary range of $25.10 - $32.84 per hour, depending on experience, along with an attractive benefits package that includes vacation time, floating holidays, sick pay, bonus days, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment with supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of SAM coaches and related shop equipment.
  • Repair and/or replace any subsystem associated with heavy, medium, and/or light duty SAM coaches or automotive equipment.

Requirements:

  • CDL: Class B Endorsements: Air brakes; Passenger endorsement
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training at manufacturer's schools, courses, or seminars highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical maintenance repair methods and practices, particularly in regards to diesel equipment.
