Job Summary

Wellstar North Fulton Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro Med/Surg team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring that care is individualized and coordinated.
  • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) using effective communication methods, such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just-in-time and planned patient teaching, and keeping patients and significant others updated and making patients' goals the focus of the plan of care.
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards.
  • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods, completion of timely documentation, and promotion of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
  • Participate and support performance improvement, inclusive of all stakeholders, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care, including initiating and/or leading such activities as well as promoting an inter/intra-disciplinary process and actively supporting/participating in shared governance at all levels in the system.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English language
  • Optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
  • Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills
