Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join our team in Northern California. As a key member of our municipal water team and construction management services, you will play a critical role in executing projects, building and growing our practice, and delivering exceptional results to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction leadership through all phases of projects, including managing project teams, contracts, QA/QC requirements, and client progress updates.
  • Monitor contractor performance, site safety, and subcontractors, and inform clients of any changes or deviations from plan.
  • Develop scopes of work and budgets for various projects and work with Project/Program Managers to plan, manage, execute, and deliver engineering projects on time, on budget, and to performance expectations.
  • Supervise and support junior technical staff, utilizing expert knowledge to manage QA material testing, review technical submittals, and monitor construction contractor execution of their quality control plan.
  • Lead and conduct progress, project, safety, scheduling, and contract administration meetings with clients, local agencies, and the community.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 15 years of total experience, with a minimum of 10 years of construction experience on water and wastewater plants and facilities projects as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction, with a California PE license.
  • Experience managing construction budgets and schedules, including estimating and change order negotiating.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 18+ years of construction experience specifically related to water or wastewater facilities, with a minimum of 10 years' experience on projects as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on a $50+ million water/wastewater project.
  • Masters' degree in Engineering, Construction, or a BS in these fields and an MBA.
  • CCM certification and active participation in a regional or national professional association.
  • Previous experience successfully leading project pursuits, including developing proposal approaches and overseeing presentations to major clients and agencies.
What We Offer

Arcadis offers a competitive salary range of $145,000-217,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional benefits including adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
