POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Health Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse is accountable for overseeing Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, families, colleagues, and vendors to guarantee satisfaction.

• Arrive punctually in a clean uniform, maintaining good personal hygiene and a visible nametag.

• Conduct resident assessments and evaluate care plans as necessary.

• Administer treatments, medications, and other nursing interventions as outlined in the patient care plan or as prescribed by the physician.

• Adhere to emergency protocols in accordance with facility policies and nursing standards.

• Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies and medications to fulfill patient needs.

• Safeguard all patient rights and ensure their protection.

• Complete all documentation in compliance with Federal and State regulations and company policies.

• Execute all duties safely and efficiently, utilizing equipment correctly and adhering to safety protocols. Report any safety hazards or incidents to a supervisor.

• Uphold the highest cleanliness standards, complying with all relevant health codes and guidelines in food preparation and handling.

• Attend mandatory training sessions and comply with all departmental policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Current LVN licensure. Experience in long-term care, community health, geriatric, or rehabilitative nursing is preferred. Familiarity with current State and Federal regulations is essential.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

• Basic mathematical skills are required.

• Ability to comprehend, follow, and implement facility policies and procedures. Must be capable of recognizing emergency situations and responding appropriately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

• Must be able to walk, stand, talk, listen, grasp, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands for various tasks.

• Ability to wear gloves to protect against exposure to bodily fluids and cleaning agents.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; over 50 pounds requires mechanical assistance or help from a co-worker.

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

The work environment characteristics described here are typical for this role:

• Exposure to moisture in showers and during various procedures. Potential exposure to bodily fluids and cleaning agents, as well as possible contact with needles and sharp objects.

• The noise level is generally moderate.
