Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent's. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Takes radiologic films to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis of medical problems.
  • Prepares and positions patients for imaging and selects exposure factors accurately.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
