Packaging Line Operator

Position Overview: The individual in this role will be accountable for the setup and operation of all packaging machinery, ensuring the quality of products prepared for shipment. This position encompasses all roles within the packaging line at the facility and includes responsibilities for packaging, sanitation, and shipping operations, including forklift duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the packaging line for maintenance, sanitation, and operational needs, making necessary adjustments.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Identify and report non-conforming or substandard products, ensuring proper handling.
  • Prepare packers for all product types.
  • Change out packaging materials, including films, colored bands, and thermal ribbons.
  • Remove broken trays and foreign objects from the production line and operate the tray washer.
  • Ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal safety protocols, food safety regulations, HACCP, and SQF standards, while adhering to the company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience and training.
  • Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Forklift operation experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours, while working with machinery.
  • Regularly stoop, bend, and crouch to access equipment or supplies in low areas.
  • Consistently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Push and pull wheeled carts weighing between 100 to 500 pounds regularly.
  • Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping, in accordance with SSOPs.
  • Climb ladders as needed.

Work Schedule: Sunday to Thursday - 3rd shift (9:15 PM start).
